Belden Releases New Power over Ethernet (PoE) Injectors

Belden, Inc., a global leader in signal transmission solutions for mission-critical applications, has released its new Hirschmann PoE/PoE+ Injectors, designed to support the growing demand for high-voltage Power over Ethernet.

“The growing demand for power across IIoT-ready networks necessitates reliable PoE for both legacy equipment and new infrastructure,” said Jürgen Schmid, senior product manager at Belden. “With these injectors, customers can now supply power-hungry devices, like pan-tilt-zoom cameras and wireless access points, without needing to rebuild infrastructure.”

Ideal for industrial operations, such as transportation and physical security, as well as process production and automation, these injectors provide increased port density and maximum power without load sharing. Each provides a stable, ruggedized housing specially designed for use in industrial environments and are:

Easy to use: Plug-and-play capability with automatic device detection and standard DIN Rail mounting makes installation an effortless process.
Flexible: All variants support up to 240 Watts across up to 8 ports without load sharing, with each port able to provide the maximum per-port output power of 30 Watts.
Cost-effective: Built-in power supply provides an all-in-one-solution, offering an efficiency of >95% to ensure minimal energy waste.
Depending on an application’s needs, two different injectors are available – active (with an integrated power supply) or passive (using an existing external power source). Both are designed with ease of installation and space savings in mind. These mid-span devices can be used to connect non-PoE switches with PoE devices – providing systems with the additional power its devices need without affecting data.

“Using these injectors, customers can add high PoE power to Ethernet-based devices in new and existing applications both easily and cost-effectively,” added Schmid.
